Shenandoah at the 2010 Louisiana Peach Festival

It’s almost Peach Festival time in Ruston! Yep, the 2010 Squire Creek Louisiana Peach Festival is fourth weekend in June. The fun begins on Friday, June 25 and runs through Sunday, June 27. Admission charged ages 7 and over, Friday and Saturday.
There´s live music downtown nightly on the Railroad Park stage beginning on Friday night with the Buddy Terzia Band. On Saturday, Hank Staples and Thundercreek open for Grammy Award Country Group of the Year nominee Shenandoah, that highlights the festival’s entertainment bill with a Saturday evening performance at 9 o’clock on Railroad Park stage. Shenandoah’s No. 1 hits include “Church On Cumberland Road,” “Two Dozen Roses,” Next to You, Next to Me,” “Mama Knows,” and “I Want To Be Loved Like That.” The buzz on music row in Nashville these days is “Shenandoah is Back, and Better Than Ever!”

The festival also features approximately 200 artisans and vendors of all types, both at Railroad Marketplace and at the Ruston Civic Center. Railroad Marketplace is open Friday-Saturday; the Civic Center, Saturday only. There is a parade, antique cars, a rodeo, tennis tournament, 5K run, cookery contest and more.
